Founder & Director, Center for Asian and Chinese Studies (CACSR)
Dr. Haytham Ahmad Mouzahem, PhD is a Lebanese scholar, political analyst, and investigative journalist whose career spans more than two decades at the intersection of academic research, media, and policy analysis. He is the Founder and Director of the Center for Asian and Chinese Studies (CACSR) — a registered Lebanese research institution (Ministry of Interior, Registration No. 461, April 18, 2023) dedicated to producing rigorous, Arabic-language analysis of Asian affairs for Arab policymakers, scholars, and the broader public.
Dr. Mouzahem holds a PhD in Philosophy and Islamic Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, both from the Lebanese University (Université Libanaise). He has pursued advanced post-doctoral research within the university’s Department of Philosophy, and currently serves as a Fellow at the New Belt and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), Hong Kong Chu Hai College — a distinction that places him among a select community of international scholars engaged with China’s global strategic and economic outreach.
Leadership & Institutional Roles
Throughout his career, Dr. Mouzahem has occupied senior positions across research, journalism, and academic instruction. He is a faculty member and researcher at the International Relations Academy, Lebanese University, and previously served as President of the Beirut Centre for Middle East Studies — one of Lebanon’s prominent policy research bodies. He has additionally served as Editor-in-Chief, Senior Columnist, News Producer, and Political Programme Writer across leading Arabic and English-language media platforms. He is the founder of The Levant (now published as The Liberum), an English-language newspaper covering Lebanese and regional affairs.
His professional expertise includes Political Consulting, Educational Consulting, Political Science, International Relations, Islamic Philosophy, Media Studies, Translation, and Content Strategy — reflecting a rare combination of scholarly depth and frontline journalistic practice.
Research Focus: Asian Studies & Policy Analysis
Under Dr. Mouzahem’s leadership, CACSR has established itself as Lebanon’s principal research center dedicated to Asian Studies (الدراسات الآسيوية), with a specialization in Chinese Studies (الدراسات الصينية), Sino-Arab relations, US-China relations, and China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The Center’s coverage spans East Asia, South Asia, West Asia, and North Asia, providing the Arab world with authoritative, research-driven Policy Analysis (تحليل السياسات) that is otherwise unavailable in Arabic-language media.
Dr. Mouzahem’s scholarly work bridges Islamic philosophy, political science, and international relations — enabling CACSR to contextualize Asian geopolitics within the broader frameworks of Arab strategic interests and regional security. His research has been cited in international academic publications, and he has contributed analyses to globally recognized outlets including Al-Monitor, Al Jazeera, and multiple peer-reviewed platforms on ResearchGate and Academia.edu.
International Engagement & Conferences
Dr. Mouzahem represents CACSR at high-level international academic and policy forums. He recently participated in the Global Supply Chain Summit and Conference at Hong Kong University, and attended the Hong Kong Chu Hai College International Conference — both events at which he engaged directly with Chinese, Asian, and international scholars and policymakers on questions of regional development, geopolitical strategy, and Sino-Arab cooperation.
The Mission of CACSR Under Dr. Mouzahem’s Leadership
CACSR provides rigorous, Arabic-language Social Research (البحث الاجتماعي) and analysis of Asian and Chinese affairs — bridging deep regional expertise with the standards of serious investigative journalism to inform public discourse in the Arab world. The Center serves as an independent, non-partisan platform where academic scholarship, Asian Studies (الشؤون الآسيوية), and Policy Analysis meet to produce work of lasting relevance to governments, international partners, civil society, and the informed public.
Dr. Mouzahem’s vision for CACSR rests on a conviction that the Arab world deserves sophisticated, native-language analysis of the forces reshaping Asia — from the rise of China and the Belt and Road Initiative to the shifting dynamics of South and West Asian politics. Under his direction, the Center has grown into a trusted reference point for researchers, diplomats, and media professionals across the region.

مؤسس ومدير مركز الدراسات الآسيوية والصينية
الدكتور هيثم أحمد مزاحم باحثٌ أكاديمي وصحفيٌ استقصائي ومحللٌ سياسي لبناني، تمتد مسيرته المهنية على مدى أكثر من عقدَين في نقطة التقاء البحث العلمي والإعلام وتحليل السياسات. وهو مؤسس ومدير مركز الدراسات الآسيوية والصينية (CACSR)، المؤسسة البحثية اللبنانية المسجلة في وزارة الداخلية اللبنانية تحت رقم 461 بتاريخ 18 أبريل 2023، والمعنية بإنتاج تحليلات رصينة باللغة العربية حول الشؤون الآسيوية، موجَّهة إلى صانعي القرار والباحثين والرأي العام العربي.
يحمل الدكتور مزاحم درجة الدكتوراه في الفلسفة والدراسات الإسلامية، وإجازةً في الصحافة، وكلتاهما من الجامعة اللبنانية. وقد أجرى أبحاثاً متقدمة ما بعد الدكتوراه في قسم الفلسفة بالجامعة ذاتها، وهو حالياً زميل باحث في معهد أبحاث الحزام والطريق الجديد (NBRRI) بكلية جو هاي في هونغ كونغ — وهو تمييز يضعه في صفوف نخبة من الباحثين الدوليين العاملين على الامتدادات الاستراتيجية والاقتصادية للمبادرة الصينية العالمية.
القيادة والأدوار المؤسسية
شغل الدكتور مزاحم على مدار مسيرته مناصب رفيعة في مجالَي البحث والإعلام. فهو عضو هيئة تدريس وباحث في أكاديمية العلاقات الدولية بالجامعة اللبنانية، وشغل سابقاً منصب رئيس مركز بيروت للدراسات الشرق أوسطية. كما أسهم بصفة رئيس تحرير وكاتب عمود رفيع المستوى ومحلل سياسي في عدد من أبرز وسائل الإعلام العربية والإنجليزية. وهو مؤسس صحيفة The Levant (الصادرة حالياً بمسمى The Liberum)، وهي صحيفة إنجليزية تُعنى بالشأن اللبناني والإقليمي.
تشمل اهتماماته وخبراته المهنية: الاستشارة السياسية، والاستشارة التعليمية، والعلاقات الدولية، والفلسفة الإسلامية، والدراسات الإعلامية، والترجمة — مما يعكس مزيجاً نادراً من العمق الأكاديمي والممارسة الصحفية الميدانية.
محاور البحث: الدراسات الآسيوية وتحليل السياسات
تحت قيادة الدكتور مزاحم، رسّخ المركز مكانته بوصفه المرجع الأول في لبنان المتخصص في الدراسات الآسيوية، ولا سيما الدراسات الصينية، والعلاقات العربية-الصينية، والعلاقات الأمريكية-الصينية، ومبادرة الحزام والطريق. ويمتد نطاق عمل المركز ليشمل شرق آسيا وجنوبها وغربها وشمالها، مقدِّماً للعالم العربي تحليلات سياسية رصينة ومعمّقة تفتقر إليها المنظومة الإعلامية والأكاديمية العربية.
تجمع أعمال الدكتور مزاحم البحثية بين الفلسفة الإسلامية والعلوم السياسية والعلاقات الدولية، مما يُمكّن المركز من استيعاب الجيوسياسة الآسيوية وتأطيرها ضمن منظور المصالح الاستراتيجية العربية والأمن الإقليمي. وقد استُشهد بأبحاثه في منشورات أكاديمية دولية، وساهم بتحليلات في منابر عالمية كـالمونيتور والجزيرة وعدد من المنصات المُحكَّمة على ResearchGate وAcademia.edu.
الانخراط الدولي والمؤتمرات العلمية
يمثّل الدكتور مزاحم المركز في المحافل الأكاديمية والسياسية الدولية رفيعة المستوى. وقد شارك مؤخراً في قمة ومؤتمر سلاسل الإمداد العالمي في جامعة هونغ كونغ، وفي المؤتمر الدولي لكلية جو هاي في هونغ كونغ — وهي منتديات تجمعه مباشرةً بباحثين وصانعي قرار من الصين وآسيا والعالم حول قضايا التنمية الإقليمية والاستراتيجية الجيوسياسية والتعاون العربي-الصيني.
رسالة المركز في عهد الدكتور مزاحم
يُقدّم المركز تحليلات بحثية اجتماعية وسياسية رصينة باللغة العربية حول الشؤون الآسيوية والصينية — مزاوجاً بين العمق الأكاديمي ومعايير الصحافة الاستقصائية الجادة، بهدف إثراء الخطاب العام في العالم العربي. ويضطلع المركز بدور منصة مستقلة وغير حزبية، تلتقي فيها الدراسات الأكاديمية وتحليلات السياسات لإنتاج معرفة ذات أثر دائم، موجَّهة إلى الحكومات والشركاء الدوليين والمجتمع المدني والرأي العام المتنوّر.
يرتكز رهان الدكتور مزاحم لمركزه على قناعة راسخة: أن العالم العربي يستحق تحليلاً متطوراً بلغته الأصيلة، يرصد المتغيرات التي تُعيد تشكيل آسيا — من صعود الصين ومبادرة الحزام والطريق، إلى التحولات المتسارعة في سياسات جنوب آسيا وغربها. وتحت إشرافه، نما المركز ليصبح مرجعاً موثوقاً لدى الباحثين والدبلوماسيين والإعلاميين في المنطقة.
